mydaguerreotypeboyfriend: Vasil Levski, age 30, 1867 This Bulgarian solider was at different points in his life, an Orthodox monk, a teacher, and a member of the Bulgarian legion, a revoloutionary group whose goal was to liberate their homeland from the Ottoman empire. Six years after this picture was taken, Levski was captured and executed by Ottoman officials.
